Hi, I’m LIsa.
Establishing an authentic connection built on warmth, trust, and support is always my starting point. Before methods, techniques, or theories, I believe in creating a safe relationship where clients feel respected as unique individuals. My approach is person-centered and collaborative, empowering clients to meet their goals with the help of empathy, humor, and compassion.
I strive to provide a space of acceptance where clients can openly explore challenges without judgment. From there, I see myself as a partner—collaborating, inspiring, and even playfully “conspiring” with clients to move beyond both current struggles and past obstacles.
When it comes to techniques, I draw from an integrative framework that includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI), as well as Jungian, existential, family systems, and feminist perspectives. I also enjoy co-creating unique strategies based on these foundations, tailoring treatment to what resonates most with each person.
I came to this career later in life after working as a professional artist and illustrator, and I find that my creative background offers a fresh lens through which to view life and healing. My experiences as an artist, single mother of three teenage boys, and caretaker to a lively household—including two dogs, three pigs, and a colony of bees—allow me to weave humor, humility, and experiential wisdom into my practice.
I specialize in supporting clients through grief, adolescent and teenage challenges, life transitions, motherhood, and parenting. My goal is always to help people feel seen, supported, and empowered to move forward with strength and authenticity.
